The rating ranges from mild vision distortion or blurring at the lowest tier, through moderate central or peripheral vision loss and severe impairment requiring assistive devices, up to blindness or near-total loss of functional vision at the highest tier, confirmed through retinal imaging, visual acuity testing, and a documented exposure history.
