Primary sources first

Vetrify's reference content is grounded in official sources: the VA Schedule for Rating Disabilities (38 CFR Part 4), VA.gov compensation rate tables, and the VBA Annual Benefits Report. Condition pages link directly to the exact eCFR section that governs each diagnostic code, and pay pages cite the VA.gov rate tables with their effective date. Where we cite the official text, the official text is authoritative — our pages are educational summaries, not substitutes for the regulation.

Official rules vs. Vetrify explanations

We distinguish between what the VA's regulations say and how we explain them. Rating criteria, compensation amounts, and presumptive rules are official; plain-language summaries, strategy tips, and evidence suggestions are Vetrify's editorial interpretation. When a page presents a figure from an official publication, it names the publication; when a figure is our own estimate, it is labeled as a Vetrify estimate.

Statistics policy

Precise statistics must have a named source. Veterans service-connected counts on condition pages cite the VBA Annual Benefits Report with its fiscal year and as-of date. Figures we cannot tie to an official publication — such as approval outlook and typical rating awarded — are labeled as Vetrify editorial estimates and are never presented as official VA statistics. An automated content check runs on every code change and blocks publication of guaranteed-outcome language, claims that a combined rating can exceed 100%, universal statements about income treatment, and unsourced "average veteran" statistics.

AI assistance and human review

Vetrify uses AI tools to help draft and maintain content at the scale of hundreds of condition and rating pages. Drafts are reviewed by the Vetrify team, factual anchors (diagnostic codes, rating tiers, compensation amounts, official counts) are checked against the primary sources above, and the automated content checks described in our statistics policy run on every change. We do not attribute content to reviewers or credentials that do not exist.

Examples and stories

Worked examples and claim scenarios in our guides are illustrative composites built from common, well-documented claim paths. They are labeled as such and never presented as real individuals. Testimonials and reviews, where shown, come from real users.

Updates and freshness

Compensation rates are updated when the VA publishes new rates after the annual cost-of-living adjustment, and pay pages show both the effective date and the date we last checked the tables against VA.gov. Service-connected counts are refreshed when a new VBA Annual Benefits Report is published. We do not stamp content with "updated" dates merely because the site was redeployed — a date on a Vetrify page reflects an actual check or change.

Corrections

If you find an error — a wrong figure, an outdated rule, a misleading phrasing — email hello@vetrify.ai with the page link and what's wrong. We review correction reports, fix verified errors in the source data so the fix propagates to every affected page, and update the page's verification date. Please don't include personal medical or claim details in a correction report.
